"...The Servants are one of those bands that if things would have gone just a little different with group members, label issues and recording process they very well could have been huge as just about every track here has a catchy vibe to it that ranks up there with some of the era's best!" (thefirenote.blogspot)

The Servants were a little known indie band from England that were formed in 1985 by singer/songwriter David Westlake. The group had several lineup changes that included past/future members of The Auteurs and The Housemartins until eventually calling it a day in 1991. The Servants officially released one full length in Disinterest [1989] and then had a 2006 compilation titled Reserved which most of Youth Club Disco has been culled. What you will find in listening to The Servants today is how they were really a hidden gem with their smooth jangly guitar pop that has plenty of layered guitars, classy vocals and a sublime swagger to their tunes that makes Youth Club Disco completely entertaining to check out.
