"..The soundtrack for Django Unchained is typically all-over-the-place: spaghetti-Western themes, Seventies folk rock, raucous acoustic blues, James Brown, Rick Ross..." (http://www.rollingstone.com)

"...For Django Unchained, Tarantino's focus is on the sound of classic Westerns. Many of the songs have a dusty, vintage feel, utilising the jangling guitars and rousing orchestral swells typical of Ennio Morricone’s Spaghetti Western scores from the Sixties – notably the title track Django, a resurrected 1966 number by veteran Argentine crooner/composer Luis Bacalov. These sit comfortably next to old and newer selections, from Jim Croce’s yearning 1973 folk hit I Got a Name to gritty delta-blues workout Too Old to Die Young from little-known Louisianan Dege Legg. The soundtrack includes four songs composed specially for the film. American singer Anthony Hamilton’s cameo appearance singing Do You Feel Me was one of best things about 2007 blockbuster American Gangster, and he almost repeats the trick here. Freedom, his stately soul duet alongside smoky-voiced newcomer Elayna Boynton, ties for the album’s highlight with the loping, sombre Ancora Qui, written by Ennio Morricone himself and delivered in elegant Italian by Elisa Toffoli. Both tracks are unlucky not to have been nominated for the Best Original Song Oscar..." (Read More: www.telegraph.co.uk)
